Abasolo Whisky
Abasolo El Whisky De Mexico is crafted and distilled from 100% Mexican Cacahuazintle (kaka • wha • SINT • lay) corn, which has been cultivated and passed down for more than 200 generations by local farmers for its distinct, extraordinary flavor.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: In the glass, Abasolo Mexican Whisky is very clear and pale gold.
Nose: This spirit smells unoaked and solvent, with a volatile florality mixed with dry popcorn kernels.
Palate: Honey and an agave grassiness, buoyed with a dose of salt.
Finish: brown sugar, skillet cornbread flecked with jalapeños, and bell peppers.
Alcohol by Volume (ABV%): 43%
Abasolo y Coco
Ingredients:
2 parts Abasolo Ancestral Corn Whisky
5 parts Coconut Water
Glassware: Collins
Garnish: Orange Wheel
Method:
Add Abasolo, coconut water and ice to glass.
Stir and garnish with orange wheel.
Jilo Old Fashioned
Ingredients:
2 parts Abasolo Ancestral Corn Whisky
0.5 parts Nixta Licor de Elote
3 dashes Angostura® Bitters
Glassware: Rocks Glass
Garnish: Lemon and Orange Twist
Method:
Add Abasolo, Nixta, and bitters to a mixing glass.
Add ice and stir until cold and diluted.
Zest citrus over rocks glass and add fresh ice.
Strain drink into glass, roll zest into attractive curls and lay garnish atop the ice.
