Ron Abuelo Añejo 7 Años
A Panamanian rum aged 7 years and notable for the fact the Abuelo is one of the very few distilleries that grow their own sugar cane.
Tasting Notes
Nose:Initial notes of butterscotch, oak spice, leather and orange peel that slowly develop into brown sugar and baking spices like vanilla and cinnamon
Mouth: Light brown sugar notes with slight taste of pecans and milk chocolate and a subtle astringency
Finish:Light, chocolatey finish on tongue
Alcohol by Volume (ABV%): 40%
Red Dragon
Ingredients:
1.5 oz of Ron Abuelo 7 Años Rum
0.5 oz of Domain de Canton ginger liqueur
0.75 oz of mezcal
0.75 oz of St. Germain elderflower liqueur
1.5 oz of blood orange juice
3 lime wedges
5 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Blood orange slice for garnish
Method:
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the lime wedges, the St. Germain elderflower liqueur and 3 dashes of the Angostura bitters. Add some ice, the Ron Abuelo 7 Años, the Domain de Canton, mezcal and blood orange juice. Shake for about 10 seconds and strain into a martini glass. Add 2 drops of Angostura and garnish with a blood orange slice.
Panama Sunrise
Ingredients:
1.5 Ron Abuelo Añejo
0.5 oz coconut rum
1 oz. fresh mango juice
1 oz fresh pineapple juice
Maraschino cherries, as garnish
Orange slices, as garnish
Sugar cane stick, as garnish
Method:
In an ice-filled shaker, pour all ingredients. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain into a highball glass. Garnish with maraschino cherries and orange slices. Garnish with a long sugar cane stick.
